This year’s theme
“Intersectionality: marginalization of minorities and modernizing international relations.”
In 1989, professor and jurist Kimberlé Crenshaw, coined the term “ Intersectionality ”. Today, the world remains an environment where discrimination continues to shape lives: whether based on gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, climate change, economic inequality…. These realities increasingly intersect, overlap, and reinforce each other, which makes intersectionality an essential lens for understanding and addressing systemic inequalities. Do not confuse it as simply the sum of discriminations, but take the time to truly understand how contemporary challenges are interconnected.
This theme is especially meaningful to us because we believe MUNs can be a powerful tool to shape the next generations of engaged citizens. Thus, letting delegates reflect on discrimination allows them to analyze these challenges in depth, while empowering the youth through acknowledgment and sincere connections.

It is a great pleasure and honor for us to host our conference in Sciences Po Lille this year. For SPLIMUN’s 6th edition, we hope to bring you a week-end of debate, fun and amazement. We have been working for month with the absolute best team of USGs to bring a truly wonderful event. Our incredible chairs have prepared uniquely interesting debates, on various topics and we can’t wait to see what you will bring to the table.
But this week-end won’t only be about debating, it will be about conviviality! We have crafted delicious lunch breaks, including typical french northerner food (with our brilliant friterie) and the best socials you can think of. So if you’re interested in taking the conversations from your committees further, laughing, dancing, and listening to the best music, w'e’ll love to have you in the most beautiful places in Lille.
